i haven't attened a meeting in 5 years.
i was wondering what the wtbts has to say about the popularity of vampires we see currently in pop culture.
are they saying its evil and from satan?.

just wondering how much good that does when ex-jws hold up signs at conventions.
do you know of anybody that saw something on a sign and did research and subsequently left the organization?.
.
we were just told they were disgruntled ex witnesses. I can see why some would want to do it. Before the internet it must have felt like the only way to get heard.
I think too that today, it would serve a different purpose than feaking out the JWs.
Now days, the small wacko religions are getting a hammering in the media. Here in Oz, the scientologists, the exclusive bretheren and other tiny fringe groups are getting the spotlight from some as high as parliment.
A group protesting with those banners could well make those in power (social political/legal) take a bit more notice of issues like shunning and child molesters.
If i did not have kids inside that i want to free i would not hesitate to be involved, but my city is a small place and word would travel fast. But to be in it to try and turn actual witnesses... no, i dont think thats an effective method nowdays.

jehovah's witnesses in nib battle.
by krystel rolle ~ guardian staff reporter ~ [email protected]:.
in a dispute that stretches back nearly two decades, the attorney representing a group of jehovah's witnesses made a final attempt yesterday to convince the court of appeal to overturn a supreme court decision which requires his clients to continue to make national insurance contributions.. attorney w. p. cathcart, who represents glen alexander colebrooke and the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses of the bahamas, laid out several reasons yesterday why the appellate court justices should do so.. the jehovah's witnesses are appealing the entire ruling of justice stephen isaacs, who dismissed their application for a review of a national insurance board's (nib) decision that requires 28 witnesses to make the contributions for a small monthly stipend that they receive.. members of the faith are not paid for service in the congregations, however, full-time branch workers like colebrooke and traveling representatives get a modest monthly allowance.. nib has said that this arrangement constitutes a contract of employment and the funds must be taxed.
Just read the bethel vow!
What the f***, they try to make themselves out to be some freakin' religous order of monks or something.
Talk about protecting themselves from any responsability to those they pursuade to join the 'order'...
They have become:
'watchtower,
watchtower and
watchtower
Inc
Attorneys at law
Lawyers, barristers and solicitors
i knew of a handful (which is too many) that were molested by a jehovah's witness.
it was not typical in my experience.
what about you???.
I think i know of one... at the moment i want to block my ears and ignore the reality that may be unveiled should i ask certain questions.
OK ALICE IN WONDERLAND AND DEBATER: What do you make of THIS HUH?
yeah, bet you wont even read this thread...
in february of 2009 i slipped a letter of conscience under the doormat of my former book study conductor who was out of town.
that letter was written because i could not support a portion of the materials that constantly was featured in wts literature.
at the time i was a sister in good standing.
wow.
Thankyou for sharing your journey.
I hope you do not mind that i saved the letters. The reply from the branch clearly illustrates the truth of many on here regarding the 'thou shalt not question us'' attitude of the Organization.
all the best with your move and your future

i just received word that ray franz passed away today at 1:37 pm eastern daylight time.
the cause of death is stated as head trauma, likely due to falling to the ground, and a stroke could have also been part of the cause or a result of the fall.
he died at emory university hospital in atlanta about 17 minutes after being taken off life support.
I have had great admiration for Ray since i first read COC 6 months ago. I found his writings to be so empty of hate and personal drive, with no agenda other than being truthful to his concience. I wish i had been brave enough to have read his books 12 years ago.
I admire his wife for steadfasly taking the journey with her man.
Perhaps in his wish for no funeral service, Ray has shown one last time that he wanted no grand recognition, no fanfare and had no agenda other than to be a truly honest man. Perhaps just as well, for i am sure it would be a huge memorial indeed.
Gone but not forgotten

it seems that many of the 'jw" apologists who find their way on here are similar.

satanic activities of secret societies.
Ye gods!
at first i thought alice had seen the light and was aware she/he/they were part of a secret society! but alas...
funny how 'alice' can cut and paste the public watchtower spin on the nazi's and ignore the pro nazi germany letters and such... oh yes, thats not on the WT CD is it?

just a simple question this time.
say a special pioneer came to town, and i gave him a place to stay at home.
would i get anything from it, in terms of privileges or the like?.
you might have the priveledge of turning them away from th WT org...
